Polyps in the intestine are a pathology frequently associated with the appearance of colon cancer due to the known malignant potential of some of them.
Their treatment is fundamentally to eliminate them by colonoscopy, but there will be some of them that are unresectable by this technique or that in their analysis are identify its potential for malignancy, in which case the indication is surgery.
Some patients carry genetic alterations that lead to the formation of multiple polyps in the colon and rectum with malignant potential.
