Colon and rectal cancer is the third most common cause of cancer in both men and women, and it is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in Spain. Its prognosis and survival will depend on the early diagnosis, and also on the surgical techniques correctly applied in each case for its cure and on the oncological medical treatments available. The treatment of colon and rectal cancer is therefore multidisciplinary, where multiple specialists participate in decision-making and treatment planning.
